Rachel loyacono

Rachel Loyacono is a painter and muralist based in New Orleans. Raised in Magnolia, Mississippi, with family roots in New Orleans, she draws inspiration from the Gulf South’s flora and fauna, distinctive architecture, and resilient and creative spirit.

Her murals bring together botanical imagery, expressive color, and layered patterns to create spaces with warmth and personality. Working with homeowners, businesses, and community organizations, she develops each composition in response to the architecture and the people who inhabit it.

Across her murals and studio practice, painting is an act of care—a way of honoring the people, places, and small details that give everyday life meaning. She holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Southern Mississippi.
